ARTICLE XIV:
WELFARE FUND
SECTION A.
PURPOSE

A welfare fund shall be established to assist members and their immediate families morally and financially during the tine of dire need.
SECTION B.
ADMINISTRATION OF THE FUND
The welfare fund shall be administered by the board of directors. Upon receipt, in writing of a request for assistance, the board of directors shall review the request and make recommendation to the general body for the final approval. If approved, the board of directors shall request the treasurer to issue a check to the member in need.
SECTION C.
MANDATED LEVEL
The welfare fund shall be maintained at $1500 and shall be maintained at this level at all times. The financial status of the fund shall be reported on a quarterly basis and at other such times as may be requested by the board of directors.
SECTION D.
FUNDING When a member is awarded an amount from the fund, the fund shall be reimbursed from the general funds of the organization on a quarterly basis, in order to maintain the mandated level. All monies over the mandated level shall be reverted back to the general funds of the organization.
SECTION E
APPLICATION FOR THE WELFARE FUND

There shall be an application to the welfare fund; documentation of need shall be required from the member and shall be submitted with the application. The members need shall be an emergency or disaster and there shall be documentation of the emergency or disaster submitted with the application.
